Pietà represents the Virgin Mary grieving over the body of Christ. In the author’s interpretation we see only the face of the Madonna. There is no despair in the beautiful and extremely serious appearance of a young woman. Her soft features do not show a bitterness. We can see only love and maternal tenderness. Only the head tilt gives out grief and the red lenses of the glasses “Gentle Monster” reflect the blood of her crucified son.

The colors and texture of the background match the sculpture which is minimalist allowing you to see the image of a woman, in focus, as the element that gives and accepts as the beginning, continuation and culmination of earthly life.
